Privacy policy

How BananaCleaner handles data.

This page is the public privacy reference for the BananaCleaner website and Chrome extension. The short version is simple: supported Gemini and AI Studio cleanup runs locally in your browser, while the service stores only the account, billing, and task metadata needed to keep access, quota, and support workflows running.

What stays local

BananaCleaner is designed around local processing. When you use the web app or the Chrome extension, the image cleanup step runs inside your browser. The original image bytes do not need to be uploaded to our server for the cleanup pass itself.

The service stores only the account, access, and task metadata needed to authenticate your browser, enforce quota or Pro Lifetime access, and keep recent activity in sync.

Data we collect

We may collect or store the following categories of data:

  • Google sign-in profile basics such as name, email address, and avatar.
  • Extension session data such as install ID, token expiry, and connection status.
  • Task metadata such as timestamps, source filename, output filename, format, status, and success counts.
  • Purchase and entitlement metadata needed to unlock Pro Lifetime access.
  • Support submissions or email conversations you send to us directly.

Why we use it

We use this data to sign you in, associate your browser with your account, decide whether free quota or Pro Lifetime access is active, retry failed task-count sync, and respond to support issues.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use Google sign-in data or extension data for advertising.

Who we share with

BananaCleaner may use service providers that help operate the product, including:

  • Google for account authentication.
  • Our payment provider for checkout, purchase records, and entitlement unlocks.
  • Hosting, database, and infrastructure providers that keep the website online.

These providers only receive the data required to deliver their part of the service.

Retention and user requests

Account and billing records are kept for as long as they are needed to provide service, maintain purchase access, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Task and diagnostic metadata may be retained for a shorter period to support quota logic, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
